Respite Care

PAI does not have a respite facility or provide respite staff, but we can help you hire a support worker of your choice. This could be a family member, friend, or other natural support from your community who can provide respite care in your home or in theirs. If you do not already have someone in mind, you can follow these tips and tools to find a Support Worker.

Respite care is short-term care provided to a person when their primary caregiver is absent or needs relief. It covers the level of supervision and care that is necessary to ensure the person's health and safety. Respite care does not cover services that are directed specifically toward the training and habilitation of the person.

Respite care can be a valuable resource for caregivers who need a break from their caregiving responsibilities. It can also help to prevent caregiver burnout.
