IHS FAQs

How do I know if I am eligible for IHS services?

IHS is available to people who live in their own home or their family’s home. As a 245D Licensed Service, this type of support requires that a person has a waiver for either Brain Injury (BI), Community Alternative Care (CAC), Community Access for Disability Inclusion (CADI), or Developmental Disabilities (DD), and is referred by a case manager.

Does PAI provide staffing for IHS?

No. PAI does not provide staffing for IHS. Instead, we work with you to hire the worker of your choice. This could be a family member, friend, or other natural support from your community. If you do not already have someone in mind, you can follow these tips and tools to find a Support Worker.

How does my Support Worker become hired through PAI?

  1. Participant or their Representative will receive a New Hire Packet at the participant’s intake meeting.
  2. Participant/Representative and Support Worker will complete the New Hire Packet and submit paperwork to PAI’s HR department by mail, e-mail, or fax.
  3. PAI Human Resources notifies Participant/Representative of Support Worker's status by mail or e-mail. If complete, PAI Human Resources sends the official “date of hire notice” to Participant/Representative.
