Variety. Mobility. Better Health.
Life skills training for seniors with disabilities.
You’re never too old to learn. PAI recognizes that learning is lifelong endeavor. We offer opportunities for seniors with disabilities to participate in life skills training through a variety of skill building classes to improve the quality of life of senior adults with intellectual and developmental disability (IDD), and autism spectrum disorder. Activities and classes focus on helping clients in our day programs for people with disabilities maintain their functional skills, mobility and health.
At PAI, we believe it is important for people with disabilities to be involved in activities that make sense for them. The activities and levels of support PAI offers are based on the needs, interests and desires of each individual in our programs. We offer a structured environment with access to specialized support for people who have intellectual and developmental disability (IDD), autism, or traumatic brain injury.
Our goal is to help clients enjoy a full, well-rounded life. We offer classes to teach the skills people with disabilities need to be engaged in paid work. We also provide opportunities to develop personal interests, both in community and onsite by encouraging hobbies, like gardening and volunteering in the community. Other classes focus on life skills training, such as: social skills, self-help and daily living skills, self-advocacy, yoga, health and wellness, safety skills and problem solving. Assistive technology and adaptive equipment is used to help those in our day programs for people with disabilities participate as fully as possible in the activities that interest them most.
